Kia Kaha is a school based programe that aims to help schools create environments where all members of the community feel safe, valued and respected and bullying cannot flourish.
At school years 9-13, the focus the programmes focues on Our Place and includes suggestions for a yearly plan of events and activities designed to keep the anti-bullying message prominent throughout the year.
The site also provides a wide range of resources and links, including guildines for dealing with bullying situations. The Kia Kaha programme is supported by New Zealand Police and Telecom.
Local Youth Education Service (YES) officers can work with schools to implement a programme.
