LGP stands for Learn: Guide: Protect: It is a frame-work that supports schools in creating a culture of responsible, safe use of digital technologies. LGP promotes a student-centered approach to teaching and learning about cybersafety and digital citizenship across the curriculum.
Learn: Guide: Protect: (LGP) has three components or layers:
- 1. The skills students learn to keep themselves safe.
- 2. The guidance they need from educators to learn how to manage challenges.
- 3. The protective mechanisms schools can use to improve their immediate safety.
This site, www.mylgp.org.nz, acts as a central hub of content, suggestions and ideas for building an effective school based digital citizenship education programme.
